A. Bond Issuance Process with the District’s Financial Advisor & Bond Counsel
Tina Kostiuk, Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations
Bloomfield Hills Schools recently closed the refunding of the 2013 high school bonds saving the district about $4.6 million, with a net present value of $3.6 million. In addition, the district is planning for the issuance of the final series of the 2020 voter approved bonds. The District’s Financial Advisor and Bond Counsel will provide an overview of the process, including considerations and parameters.
B. Michigan Department of Natural Resources Grant Opportunity
Alan Jaros, Director of Bowers School Farm and Johnson Nature Center
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources Land Trust Fund Grant requires a Recreation Plan to be submitted as part of the grant application. The last recreation plan was completed in 2001 by Bloomfield Hills Schools. The monies sought are for possible land acquisition of property adjacent to the Johnson Nature Center that is for sale.
