Study Session A. Cooperative Agreement between Bloomfield Hills Schools and Charter Township of West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation Commission Discussion The attached Cooperative Agreement pertaining to the use of the surplus Pine Lake property will be presented for approval at the May 25, 2023 Regular Meeting of the Board of Education. Representatives from West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation, along with Dana Abrahams of Clark Hill, PLC, will be in attendance to address any questions the governing body has in advance of the May 25, 2023 board action. B. Letter of Intent - Nature Center Land Acquisition The Nature Center Seller’s Agent provided a Letter of Intent for the district to review for signature. That was submitted to the district attorney and documentation received with potential options. Adhering to the original Board of Education directives that the district was not to be financially obligated led to the involvement of outside counsel to ensure the district was not committing resources beyond the Board of Education discussion. C. Superintendent Search Update The Board of Education will share the next steps in the search for its next Superintendent of Bloomfield Hills Schools. D. Diversity Assembly Investigation Committee Update The Board of Education will provide an update on Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton, P.C.'s independent investigation following the March 14, 2023 Diversity Assembly at Bloomfield Hills High School. E. Board Committee, Liaison and Representative Reports An update from the various board subcommittees, as well as updates from the trustees on liaison and representative appointments. F. Naming of Eastover and Lone Pine Sites Based on recommended safety, security, and operational needs discussed at the April 13, 2023 Study Session, the 3100 Lone Pine Rd and 1101 Westview Rd buildings will need to be renamed. Pursuant to Board Policy 6010, the Board of Education names buildings and these properties are slated for a decision prior to June 30, 2023. G. Development of BHS Testing and Assessment Calendar Pursuant to the Board of Education Goals, the District has presented a draft of the Testing and Assessment Schedule, and is seeking feedback before its finalization for publication. H. K-12 Mathematics Pathways Discussion and an overview of the mathematics programming and opportunities for students K-12. I. Special Education Center Fund History and Program Expenditures An overview of Special Education Center Program activities and history to date, including funding methodology and budget considerations with audited fund balance. J. Conant Roofing Recommendation Discussion about the additional sections of roofing, metal panels, and standing seam to complete the construction of the Conant Elementary roof project. K. May 25, 2023 Regular Meeting Agenda Framework Discussion The Board of Education will review the proposed agenda items with the administration slated for placement on the agenda for the May 25, 2023 Regular Board Meeting.
