Request to Approve Tutoring Service Providers Todd Bidlack, Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services I move the Board of Education to approve the recommended tutoring service providers to support extended day programming, as presented by the administration. B. Request to Waive Board Policy 4005 - Other Matters of Employment Todd Bidlack, Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services I move the Board of Education to adopt the following resolution, as presented by the administration: Whereas, Bloomfield Hills Schools is implementing an after school and extended day tutoring program across the district; Whereas, Board Policy 4005 prohibits teachers from receiving remuneration for tutoring students who attend the teacher's respective school; Whereas, the Board of Education supports the efforts to provide academic assistance to students through the expertise of qualified teachers; Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Board of Education of Bloomfield Hills Schools hereby authorizes teachers who provide tutoring services strictly through this program to receive remuneration for students who attend their respective school, but not for students who are in their respective class. Organization of the Board A. Board Policy 1001 - Organization and Functioning of the Board Board of Education I move the Board of Education approve a one-time waiver of Policy 1001 - Organization and Functioning of the Board to allow its Election of Officers to occur this evening, verses the Organizational Meeting of January 25, 2024, given trustees are in place for the upcoming calendar year, and to also align with administrative appointments effective January 1. Roll call vote, with 2/3 majority support required to pass the motion. B. Election of Officers Board of Education I move for the 2024 calendar year, officers are elected by roll call vote pending the acceptance of those trustees being nominated. I move (name of trustee) be elected to serve as the president of the Bloomfield Hills Schools Board of Education through December 31, 2024. I move (name of trustee) be elected to serve as the vice president of the Bloomfield Hills Schools Board of Education through December 31, 2024.
